What is Cashback and How Does it Work?

Cashback is when you receive commission back for shopping at selected retailers. Sound too good to be true? Cashback sites are part of an affiliate programme which means that retailers pay them for each customer that shops on their site thanks to them. Instead of keeping all of that profit, these cashback sites give a portion back to you allowing you to earn some money on your purchases!

There are a few cashback sites in the UK but the main ones will be listed below explaining how they work and how to sign up:

Quidco

Quidco is a site in the UK that allows you to earn cashback when shopping at selected retailers. It is free to sign up and you are able to start saving almost instantly.

Some retailers include:

Missguided, PrettyLittleThing, JustEat, Pizza Hut, Nike, Benefit, uDemy, Argos, eBay, AliExpress, Superdrug and many more.

HOW IT WORKS:

1. Search for your favourite retailer on the Quidco site

2. Click on the 'Get Cashback' button to be redirected to the retailers site. This is an important step as it will track any purchases that you make.

3. Continue to shop as normal.

Once you have completed your purchase, Quidco will track it and send you an email to let you know how much you'll get back.

Airtime Rewards

This isn't a website but an app available on iOS and Android. This is different to the above mentioned cashback sites as you are able to use the cashback that you earned to knock money off your phone bill.

Retailers on the app include:

Primark, Boots, Wilko, Argos, Topshop, Topman, Debenhams, Papa Johns and many more.

HOW IT WORKS:

1. Download the app from the app store

2. Add ALL of the bank cards that you use when you make purchases.

3. Shop as normal either online or instore.

👉 Use code 'YKXRJVP7' for a free 50p when you sign up.

Airtime Rewards will pop up with a notification on your phone to let you know once your purchase has been tracked and how much for. Once you earn at least £10, you'll be able to withdraw the money and have it be taken off your next phone bill.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How fast is the cashback?

Cashback will be 'confirmed' in your account but the time that takes can vary from a week to 6 months. There will be an 'estimated time of payout' which will give you a better idea of how long you'll have to wait.

Is every retailer listed on these sites?

Not all retailers will be listed so make sure to search before going ahead and making any purchases. New retailers are being added every week so do be sure to check back regularly.

Do I have to go to the cashback site first?

Airtime Rewards track any purchases you make at selected retailers with the cards you have registered in the app automatically.

Quidco and TopCashback do require you to visit their site first in order for your purchase to be recorded.
